Neighbors on the south side of Indianapolis watched CPR on a roadside late Thursday morning. By that evening, police said they had a man in handcuffs, after a community tip led them to him.

What’s Happening: According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers went to West Troy Avenue and Denison Street around 11:10 a.m. on August 14, 2025, after a report that a person had been struck. Police said they found 56-year-old Robbie Vidito on the side of the road with many injuries while bystanders gave CPR. Medics took Vidito to a hospital in critical condition. Police said he died there.

Homicide detectives took over the case, per police. The Marion County Coroner’s Office and the Marion County Forensic Services Agency assisted. Detectives said they gathered evidence and spoke with witnesses. Police said that work led them to name 24-year-old Seth McPeak as a suspect.

With help from a community tip, the Violent Crimes Unit and Southwest district officers found McPeak around 6:15 p.m. in the 2800 block of Collier Street, according to police. Officers arrested McPeak on preliminary counts of murder, robbery causing serious bodily injury, auto theft, and battery with injury.

Police said the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decisions.
